Over the years, I have had the opportunity to write and perform music for theatrical productions and musicals. Most of these productions involved a live band and sometimes I performed solo on the piano.
The first three pieces ("Country vista", "Another night in the castle" and "Flying towards liberation") were written for a theatre production for children "Das Traumfresserchen" (The Dream Eater) in 2002. It is about a sad king who has nightmares and can't sleep. But somehow, he finds a "Dream Eater", who helps him to "eat up" his bad dreams. With his new friend, the dream eater, the king finds liberation and freedom.
"Child's Nightmare" was written for another theatre production called "Emil und die Detektive" in 2006. ("Emil and the private investigators"). Imagine a child lonely in a train compartment, falling into a dreamy sleep (summer holidays at the sea) and it is getting dark around her. Slowly the creatures of the dark appear on stage and...
